Terms of Service
Last updated 28 September 2026
These terms apply to everyone who uses shopat — store owners who create stores, and shoppers who browse them. By using shopat you agree to them. shopat is operated by Shopat (“we”, “us”).
1. What shopat is
shopat lets a business publish a catalogue of its products as a web page, and lets shoppers build a cart and send it to that business as a link, usually in an Instagram message. The business and the shopper then agree the final details, payment and delivery directly.
shopat does not sell anything, take payments or deliver goods, and is not a party to any sale. Each store is run by an independent business, which is solely responsible for its products and for every sale it makes.
2. Store owner accounts
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract, and give accurate information when you sign up.
- Keep your password secure. You're responsible for everything done through your account.
- Choose a store link that you have a right to use. We may change or reclaim links that are misleading, infringe someone's rights or aren't being used.
3. Your responsibilities as a store owner
- Only list products you are allowed to sell, and describe them, their prices and availability honestly.
- You are responsible for the sale: confirming orders, payment, delivery, returns, refunds, warranties and customer support, and for complying with the laws that apply to your business — including consumer protection, tax (such as GST) and any seller information you must give buyers.
- Treat the shopper information you receive (names, contact details, notes) with care, and use it only to handle their order.
4. What you may not do
You may not use shopat to:
- sell or promote anything illegal, counterfeit, stolen, dangerous or regulated without the required licences — including weapons, drugs, prescription medicines and adult content;
- infringe anyone's copyright, trademark or other rights, including using photos you don't have permission to use;
- mislead or defraud shoppers, or harass, threaten or spam anyone;
- attack, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer or get around the security of shopat, or access other people's accounts or data.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you upload — product details, photos and logos. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, resize and display that content only as needed to run shopat and show your store. You confirm that you have the rights to everything you upload. We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law.
6. For shoppers
When you send a cart, you are dealing directly with the store. Prices shown are set by the store and are estimates until the store confirms them. Questions about products, payment, delivery, returns or refunds should go to the store. We can't guarantee any store's products or conduct. If a store is breaking these terms, tell us at support@shopat.app.
7. The service
We work to keep shopat available and reliable, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”, without guarantees that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, add or remove features. If we introduce fees for store owners, we'll tell you in advance, and you can choose to stop using shopat.
8. Suspension and closing your account
You can stop using shopat at any time and ask us to delete your store and account by emailing support@shopat.app. We may suspend or close a store or account that breaks these terms, puts shoppers or others at risk, or if the law requires us to — where reasonable, we'll tell you why first.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or lost data, or for anything arising from sales between stores and shoppers. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to shopat is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or ₹1,000. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Indemnity
If you are a store owner, you agree to cover any claims, losses or costs made against us that arise from your products, your sales, your content or your breach of these terms or the law.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be handled by the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana, unless the law gives you the right to go elsewhere.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and tell store owners about significant changes before they take effect. Continuing to use shopat after that means you accept the updated terms.
13. Contact
Questions about these terms, or complaints, can be sent to Shopat at support@shopat.app. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
